Ipsy April 2015 Unboxing
The theme of this month is Beautifully Bohemian. Ipsy is a beauty subscription bag that comes once a month. Behind the Box pays for the $10 a month subscription. I really enjoy this subscription. The sizes are always great. The only thing I think Ipsy could do better is provide more variety. You typically get the same types of items like blush, eyeliners, shadows and lip gloss are all very common in these bags. However, they do vary up the brands so you get to try different product brands to figure out which works best for you. Here we go…
Olive Lips in Oats and Honey. It’s a moisturizing lip balm that is made with all organic ingredients. It smells wonderful and goes on somewhat thick. Most people who reviewed this balm on ipsy.com said they liked it a lot and that it made their lips softer. I just put some on my lips now and I like the consistency and smell. I look forward to using more of this product. I valued it at $6.
Next is Nude Dude mini eyeshadow in the color of fit. This is the cutest packaging I’ve ever seen for eyeshadow. On the inside the shadow acts as a towel covering a man. Clever, very clever! The color is like a copper and is very shimmery. I like it a lot. I will value this one at $7.
I have a Julep Maven subscription, which you typically get two polish colors monthly. So, I’m never thrilled to get polishes in subscription boxes, but I really like this color. It’s Julie G in the color of Damsel. It also comes with a $1 off coupon. The value of this product is $4.
Then we have a Crown Brush, oval concealer. I love getting brushes in boxes. Brushes can be very expensive so it’s nice to get these. Also, the right brush can really change your look in the most fabulous way. I don’t know much about this brand, but I look forward to trying it out. It’s valued at $8.
The last thing in my bag is Pandora’s Blush in the color of Pink Carnation. The packaging is lovely on this product and so is the color. It’s a perfect spring color and I can’t wait to try it out. The reviews I read call it perfect and highly pigmented. And like myself, other reviewers loved the cute packaging. On the website boxycharm.com, it received four out of five stars with 437 people reviewing it. The value is $14.
SUMMARY — This bag is $10 and I’ve valued it at $39. Awesome value for one of the cheapest beauty subscriptions around. I give this bag at 4.5 OUT OF 5 STARS. I’m happy with the products inside, I just wish Ipsy would go out of their comfort zone and try some different types of products like more face masks and creams. But no doubt about it, in my opinion anyway, this is a great bag.
