Birchbox April 2015 Unboxing
This is the April 2015 Birchbox box and I’m in love with the pretty peach, floral design by Rifle Paper Co. Birchbox is one of the original subscription boxes and costs $10 a month. It typically contains four sample sizes and one full size product. Behind the Box pays for this subscription box.
Each box comes with a card that explains what’s inside the box and how to use it. The card states that this month’s box features an exclusive print designed by Rifle Paper Co. The brand is said to be known for it’s stunning illustrations and stationary.
First up is Cynthia Rowley Beauty Brightening Illuminator. It’s considered a Birchbox exclusive. The card calls it a velvety highlighter. I’m excited to try this illuminator as I just bought some contouring brushes from Sephora today, but I’m not thrilled with how small this sample is. Plus, the little bit that’s in there doesn’t even fill up the full size of the container. Anywho…I decided to check on other reviews of this product. Out of 4003 reviews, it received 4.3 stars out of five on birchbox.com. It’s said to give your face a glow, easy to use and lasts all day. Bam! Pumped, just wish it was bigger, sigh…I value it at $5.
Another small sample size, but can I say I am in love with this scent! Like so in love I will spend the $55 for the full size perfume, or as I say in my video, sucker my mom into buying it for me 😉 The product is Harvey Prince. The scent is Yogini. Anyone familiar with this brand? I value it at $2.
I believe this is a full size palette. The colors are gorgeous, let me repeat, gorgeous! I’m in love with the springy, playful colors in the trio. It’s called POP Portfolio Eyeshadow Palette. The color is Peach Parfait Trio. The value is $26.
Finally, is this shampoo and conditioner combo. It’s Beaver Professional Hydro Nutrive Moisturizing Shampoo and Hydro Nutrive Repairing Conditioner. The smell is light and mild, but pretty. It’s said to nourish and repair hair and rebuild strands. The conditioner is supposed to leave hair softer and smoother. Went ahead and checked out what reviewers are saying about these products. It received four out of five stars with 4,868 people. Most people said they weren’t blown away by these two products, but really liked the smell. One reviewer said it does contain sulphates, which in this world of many women wanting “more natural” is a bit of a no, no in hair products. I’m valuing each item at $4. So together the shampoo and conditioner would be $8.
SUMMARY — The box is $10 and the value is $41. It’s not my all time favorite Birchbox, but I did like everything inside and will use it all. However, I’m disappointed in the reviews on the shampoo and conditioner. The best find in the box for me is the Yogini perfume. I will be buying a full size once my sample is gone. What did you get in your April 2015 Birchbox?
